Sunrise Storytelling in the Mountains!
Sunday, December 20, 2026
Bluemont, Virginia (near Purceville, Virginia)
Bismillah!
For all that is good and accessible, this adventure is for YOU! Sundays can get busy with family commitments. Let’s seek the barakah of the morning hours, ground ourselves in nature and go for a mini morning hike with provisions before the busyness of the day commences!
This adventure was designed with YOU at the forefront. You all are gems in unique ways and while we sit in the glow of the rising sun, we have to hear from you! For this adventure, you have some HOMEWORK!
Homework (But FUN!)
(1) You will be bringing a portable breakfast item that you are willing to share with your friends that is either an item you really enjoy eating or one that describes you well (see “Logistics” below)
(2) Prepare a story you would like to share about yourself. No fancy formatting, just authenticity! This story doesn’t need to be in words, it can be through photos, videos or drawings! Be creative!
Itinerary
7:30 AM: Meet at Trailhead parking in Bluemont, Virginia (slightly west of Purceville, Virginia)
7:45 AM: Commence hike (it’s an uphill walk of about 0.5 miles - it should take 30-40 minutes)
8-10 AM: Community breakfast and storytelling at a lookout point
10:45 AM: Return to car! Adventure adjourned!
Logistics
Please be prepared for hiking and sitting outside in the cold with proper hiking shoes and layers! I will be sharing information on how to prepare on the WhatsApp group, inshaAllah!
For the breakfast item: This does not need to be fancy! It can either be something you really enjoy eating for breakfast or maybe an item that describes you (e.g. you bring granola for the group because amongst your friends, you’re known as the GRANOLA GIRLIE). Preference is for the item to be portable (like sandwiches or bars)! Keep in mind, you will have a backpack and be hiking uphill for about 0.5 miles, so pack accordingly!
This adventure is open to brothers and sisters of all ages 18+!
Once registration closes, you will be added to a group chat where I’ll communicate the logistics of the day!
Weather Plan
If the roads become dangerous to drive due to inclement weather, the event will be cancelled!
If the temperature is below 25 degrees, the event will be moved to an indoor, private facility! The show must go on!
All updates will be announced on the WhatsApp group, inshaAllah!
