A Farm Adventure in Maryland: A Roadtrip!

Sunday, August 30, 2026: A Full Day Adventure!

Bismillah!

When I was in elementary school, we read the book “Walk Two Moons” that contained a quote that still sticks with me: “You never know a man until you walk two moons in his moccasins.”

You will have the unique chance of being part of a one-day Caravan Tales adventure with the intention of putting yourself in the “moccassins” (shoes) of the heartfelt farmers who are behind the hard work and commitment that comes from growing and harvesting our foods. These farmers are friends to Caravan Tales and are committed to providing our region with wholesome foods and also are ones to share their wealth of knowledge with other farmers!

The hope is you all take greater lessons from this adventure including a renewed intention to eating wholesome foods, appreciating the goodness and variety of food provided to us, and gratitude to those who strive to provide our foods despite the efforts and uncertainty of results and the One who provides richness and diversity of food for us to enjoy.

If you’ve been itching to be part of an adventure but cannot commit to an overnight adventure at this time, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! Come to one of the pick-up points and let’s go on a roadtrip! This adventure is open to friends who are able to join in the van from either of these pickup locations - not for driving in individual cars (email me for special exemptions, registration fee remains the same)!

Schedule at a Glance

• 7:30 AM: Van Departure from Ashburn, Virginia (Pick-up Option 1)

• 8: 15 AM: Van Departure from Centreville, Virginia (Pick-up Option 2)

• 9 AM: Van Departure from Oxon Hill, Maryland (Pick-up Option 3)

• 10 AM: Arrival to Farm + Introductions/Ice Breakers

• 10:30-1 PM: An adventure around the farm + hands-on farm tasks

• 1-1:45 PM: Break time (Wash up + communal prayer)

• 2-3:30 PM: A wholesome farm-to-table lunch with reflections

• 3:30-3:45 PM: Last call for facilities

• 3:45 PM: Departure

• 4:15 PM: A quick stop for a cheeky ice cream

• 5:15 PM: Van Drop-Off at Oxon Hill, Maryland

• 6:30 PM: Van Drop-Off at Centreville, Virginia

• 7 PM: Van Drop-Off at Ashburn, Virginia

Note: The exact times are subject to change due to unforeseen delays, but be physically and mentally prepared for a full day adventure! Nothing to fear when you go home with a heart full of memories with new friends!

For the farm “hands-on portion” be prepared to be in the heat: you will need to bring sun protection (hat, long sleeve shirt and pants) and footwear that can get dirty.

This adventure is open to all ages 18+ unless you are accompanied by a parent or sibling above 18!

Once registration closes, you will be added to a group chat where I’ll communicate the logistics, addresses for each pick-up/drop-off location, and more! If you’re looking to carpool to the van pickup meeting point, feel free to coordinate with your fellow adventur-ers once the Whatsapp group is created, inshaAllah (God willing)!

Registration Fee: $110 (inclusive of online service fees)

Your registration fee will cover transportation, a guided full day adventure curated with LOTS of love, nutritious roadtrip snacks/drinks + drinks for the experience + wholesome plant-based lunch made with produce from the farm
